    Lions aide joins Steelers

Ray Horton, the Lions' defensive backs coach the past two seasons, is expected to take a similar job with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The departure of Horton means head coach Steve Mariucci could have possibly six changes on his coaching staff next season.

Mariucci has hired former Chicago coach Dick Jauron as defensive coordinator, former San Francisco line coach Pat Morris to coach the offensive line and former Chicago quarterbacks coach Greg Olson as an offensive assistant, currently with unspecified duties.

Mariucci still must sign a wide receivers coach, a defensive line coach and -- possibly -- a defensive backs coach to replace Horton.

One possibility for defensive backs is Kurt Schottenheimer, if he is willing to stay after losing the defensive coordinator title. Another possibility is that Jauron, who coached Green Bay's defensive backs for nine years, will coach the secondary.
