Dolphins offensive coordinator Norv Turner flew to Oakland on Thursday to interview with the Raiders about their head-coaching position, potentially leaving Miami in a serious lurch.
Turner, whose offensive background fits what the Raiders are looking for, might be difficult for the Dolphins to replace on short notice. In particular, a likely candidate could be gone today.
Raiders offensive coordinator Marc Trestman, who is not expected to be retained, was scheduled to visit the Dolphins on Sunday to interview for the quarterbacks-coach job. However, Trestman was weighing an offer to coach at Cornell University and was supposed to give school officials his answer Thursday night, a source said.
Trestman declined to comment when reached at his home outside Oakland.
