    New fullback on board

    from the Buffalo News
Daimon Shelton, a free agent fullback who last played with Chicago, reached an agreement to join the Buffalo Bills. Shelton has played six seasons in the NFL but was not on a roster this year after being cut by the Bears on Aug. 31. Shelton, 6-foot-2 and 262 pounds, filled a blocking-back role for Chicago. He started eight games in 2002 and nine in 2001. He did not have any carries either year. Before that he played four years in Jacksonville, starting 26 games over four seasons. from

Interesting. He probably will either come in and compete with Sam Gash or be a backup FB. We do need to look at a FB one way or the other so this covers that.

Roster filler. I'm sure we'll be looking at a bunch of guys at several positions over the next few months. Gash's real competition will come from some rookie we bring in to address the need when Gash isn't here anymore.
Someone said "What's he gonna turn out like?" Ha!
And someone else said "Never mind!"

It's that time of the year to start accumulating bodies that can fill up the practice fields during mini camp and training camp.

I've forgotten the name of the fullback who went in IR this year, a senior moment. It was "Phil" something wasn't it? He showed promise.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

                Do we still have Gash?

I thought he was a FA.

If Crosby is healthy and we can get him back, I think he provides just as much as Gash would have. Gash isn't the blocker he once was, although he's still good, and Crosby's play was underrated IMO.
