BOSTON (Reuters) - At least one person was killed when a motorist plowed a vehicle into a crowd of revelers after the New England Patriots' 32-29 victory over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII, Boston police said on Monday.
The driver, Stanley Filoma, backed his sport utility vehicle down a crowded street near Northeastern University and struck at least four people before driving away, police spokeswoman Mariellen Burns said. One person was killed while another was in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Filoma was one of four people arrested overnight in Boston, where hundreds of rowdy fans overturned cars, broke windows, set fires and pelted police with bottles and other objects following the Patriots' second Super Bowl victory in three years.

These ******s don't deserve to win a SB. More proof there's no justice in the sports world.

Please, do you really think Buffalo will be standing if the Bills ever win the Super Bowl?

When I saw that on the news this morning, I was ashamed to be from Boston. Our fans, or so I thought, were better than that, but then again, I guess I should've known after the riot we had during the Sox series.

That's terrible! :( I never understood this kind of "celebrating." I don't understand destruction as a way of showing excitement for a sports victory. It's sad! :(

Whatever. If Buffalo can make it through 4 superbowl losses without rioting, they can make it through a win.

I just don't get it. What posesses a teams fans to riot after a victory? It makes no sense :shakeno:

Trust me- There will be pics of a mangled car or two and a few bonfires when Buffalo wins it......Unless it's 5 frikkin' degrees outside

A few fenderbenders trying to get back from Midnight Mass and the bonfires will be there just to keep us warm as we sing a few rounds of Kumbaya.:idunno::cold:

If Buffalo won the Super Bowl there would be some crazy Bills fans who would do the same thing.

It's simple. There are thousands and thousands of guys who are drunk and very happy. So they celebrate normally until like 10 bad asses who could careless about the sport or team join in on the fun by doing something stupid since they are bas asses and then you get 10 other drunken fans to join them and then 5 minutes later its 100 and then 1000 and so on.

I would mock Boston for this but i won't, because if Buffalo wins the SB similar stuff will happen here, if we like it or not.

Are you kidding me??? If Buffalo ever wins a SB or the Sabres a Cup this city will burn! It will be the biggest party ever.

In fact, back in 99 during the Sabres Cup run, I thought it would have been a good idea for the police to cordon off a 3 block area in the inner city (no residences), put a couple old cars in their to flip, and let the fans have their victory celebration - if needed.

With all the built up rage this city has stored up it will just explode. And off to the side there will be those that say "Oh my, I just can't believe this is happening! What a disgrace!" When you live in the only city with major league teams to NEVER have won a championship (AFL titles don't count) you don't just high five each other.

National News will be saying the same thing, but screw them, at least they'd talk about Buffalo for more than snow and terrorists.

I never criticize another city for "over-celebrating". They will all pale in comparison to Buffalo.

I wish you guys wouldn't use the word celebrate in the same sentence as burn, riot, loot, kill and pillage. It's just plain wrong.

First I remember hearing of riot/celebration is when the Tigers won the Worlds Series in 1984.
