They get a thumbs up from me! They are a lot lighter than the current helmet and that is supposed to help reduce head and neck injuries!

They're ok. I see different players wearing different helmets all the time. I like the ones that BIKE makes.

Riddell press release (http://www.riddell.com/RevFacts.htm)

the most troubling risk in football - catastrophic brain injury. If Riddell is right, its design could also keep players from getting mild traumatic brain injuries, or concussions, as often - a compelling claim in a sport that causes about 100,000 concussions a year, 40 per cent of them at the U.S. high school level.

The Revolution is its response to research funded by the NFL that found seven of 10 on-field concussions were caused by hits to the side of the head. "I'm glad to see that they are making advancements because nobody has made a change in the helmet in 20-something years," NFL Players Union executive director Gene Upshaw told NFL.com.

I am a big NFL fan. I care. If this helmet could have kept a guy like Troy Aikman, or any other player that has had multiple concussions, in the game longer.........I am for it. You can not have too much talent in this league. I hate to see players leave due to injuries.

That's great if it's true!

I played quite a bit of ball. I have had my share of concussions (keep your comments to yourself please!).

I always wondered why the helmets weren't made out of foam. That would prevent concussions.

But it wouldn't LOOK to sharp. It's all about the $.

I hate when announcers bring up stats about a players # of concussions. “Troy Aikman has had 8 concussions…”

Ummmm. What about College, High School, and even Pop Warner. Aikman probably had about 20 in his ENTIRE career.

Like the helmet, hate the face mask. The face mask just looks out of sorts and overdone.
