All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Wys- I could care less if GW was pissing out of his mouth and ****ting out of his ears. As long as we look good against good teams (like we are) and have a good record...
..do you not remember he was left with a stripped team... he had to rebuild.
So if Marvin Lewis gets the Washington defense going like his old Baltimore defense, holding teams to less than 10 points/game, enabling even a bad offense to win games, but the Spurrier's Fun N Gun offense sputters badly, you'd hail Steve Spurrier as a great HC? You'd have no problem with that? Well, you would be alone. Spurrier was brought in to get the offense scoring points. Period. Lewis is D, Spurrier is O. Lewis could as easily be the HC as Spurrier. It really doesn't matter.
It's the same type of situation here in Buff -- Gilbride is the offensive coach, GW is the defensive coach. Either one of them COULD serve as HC -- it really doesn't matter. Gilbride will be judged by the offense, which is incredibly good this year -- and GW will be judged by the defense, which remains incredibly bad.
Too early to give GW any credit or lack of it. The way the offense is performing obviously has a lot to do with Gilbride , Drew and his weapons. Most of the credit goes to TD for his hiring, drafting and cap decisions.
GW (supposedly a defensive genius) and Gray are responsible for the defensive side of things w/c hasn't been performing well despite better(?) player changes compared to next year.
Then again we'll have to wait til' at least midseason to see where the D and special teams are headed the rest of the season.

He is the HEAD coach, not the Defense. You have to stop looking at him as that way. We have a D coach. He is not it!!
So if we drafted Julius Peppers instead of Mike Williams, and a stud DT instead of stud Josh Reed, and traded for Ray Lewis instead of Drew Bledsoe (since Drew is performing as well as any QB in the league by anyone's standards) and spent 10 million on another free agent DL instead of Trey Teague and Ron Edwards made huge strides in his second year on the line instead of Marques Sullivan, and suddenly the defense was one of the top in the league and Gilbride was our OC but we couldnt score 14 points a game then we should fire GW and hire Gilbride as HC?
Bullfeathers! GW is here as a defensive "genius" -- Gilbride is here to run the offense. Period. Either one of them could be the official HC -- it doesn't matter!!
The only difference between Buff and Washington is that Spurrier freely admits what the real situation is -- he jokes that he doesn't even know the names of all his defensive players, he just calls 'em all "marvin's guys". At least he's honest.
