Revisionist History #1-2/4-What if Norwood hits the kick?

I got this idea from the Bledsoe/Mo Lewis thread...

What if Scott Norwood makes the 48yd FG and the Bills win Super Bowl XXV?

    What would have been different?

Personally, the Bills never go back to the other 3 SBs...and there is a huge possibility that the luxury box drive in 1998 fails after 6 straight losing seasons...and the Bills are now known as the Los Angeles Bills.

    What say you?

I think the Bills repeat, but not 4 in a row, as big FA deals and complacency would've halted the success of the team. The team would've had more confidence from the first SB though, giving them the assurance that they could win it all again.

I say we go back three more times and this time win at least two more. The sloppy play eliminated in the last three by the confidence level after winning the first one.

I lean more towards Eb'z idea. I think we repeat and thats it. Making the playoffs the next 2 years and slowly fading after that.

          A bit extreme there Eb!

I’ve always said that they would have made it back the next year. Probably would have lost it. In the third year, We would have been down 35-3 against Houston and we would have just given up! Which in turn would have put Miami in Superbowl 27 where they would have been smoked by the Boys!

This is where it would gets tricky, we had a very good team in 93 but maybe we don’t have the same drive. After that, I think the same thing happens. Full Free Agency comes about, we start losing some players and signing guys like Paup and Billy Brooks. Guys like Jimbo and Hull start to hang them up, We get in cap trouble by trying to make one more run in the mid to late 90’s, Wade takes over for Marv, the little guy is signed to take over for Kelly and compete with Rob. And we’re right back where we were!

I think a bigger question would be, John Fox hired over GW!
          Resign our own guys!

these threads are wierd coz obviosuly there are so many things that happen. not just that incident. the houston point was very interesting. would the drive have been the same??

personally if we had won the first and then we assume the rest is as it was, i think we would hvae won all 4. possibly at worst 3 of the 4. as denver showed not so long ago, and the patriots this year. when the team is esentially unchanged, knowing how toi win is everything and having won the first i think we win the rest.

another interssting point to do with this AND the Houston come back is this. what if Kelly was never injured and Reich hadn't been playing against ouston...would Kelly still have managed the comback? would we have never been losing in the first place? oh the questions...

My guess is we would have won Superbowl 26 as well and then never made it back. Jim Kelly and the gang would go down as one of the greatest teams ever. They would probably rest on their laurels a bit after that. That would be fine with me. However, those 4 SB losses will only it make it THAT much sweeter when the Bills finally win. I will definitely be buying drinks for everyone on the board!

I would have liked to win the 4th SB we went to.

We had that game at halftime and let it slip away.

I have to agree with Eb, although not LA. I think the Bills win that one, and Ralph finally gets his ring. He can now rest and turn control of the team over to a group that sells it.

Does this also mean the Billy Joe or RJ never happen then?

if norwood hit it... the bills teams would be recognized as one of the most dominant teams in nfl history. we would have gotten our just due. 4 in a row u kno that's no walk in the park. it's a crying shame we get no respect for that

We would've gotten some dang respect as being one of the great teams in league history, and people wouldn't laugh everytime you tell em your a bills fan.
