    Note on Winfield

    Just found this on MSNBC.com:

"The deepest position available in free agency at this point is cornerback. Starters Charles Woodson, Champ Bailey, Antoine Winfield, Chris McAlister, Mario Edwards, Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Ahmed Plummer and Shawn Springs all are potential free agents if they don't sign by March 2. The hottest and most available could be Winfield, Buffalo's outstanding tackler and cover man. The thought of teams letting Woodson, Bailey or McAlister go is far-fetched."

I dont know if this is good or bad, either way last thing we need is an even weaker backfield.

another interesting note is in the same article it said DB's are now the most expensive players to sign.

"Cornerbacks have surpassed pass rushers as the most expensive defensive players, according to the NFL Players Association averages of salaries of the top 10 players at each position. The top cornerbacks average $6.8 million a year, defensive ends $6.5 million."

Joe Gibb already said Champ Bailey WILL NOT go anywhere even if they have to tag him. I wonder how many other players will be tagged!
