"I think they're a joke," the Leafs goaltender said when asked about the proposed changes. "It's embarrassing that someone would even propose something like that.

"We measured Bryan Marchment's shin pads. They're eight inches. Basically, they want us to wear defenceman's shin pads."

Ed Belfour is a joke...maybe he can try to bribe the GMs with a billion dollars.

The goalie rules won't fly, at least not as proposed right now.

The GMs should give up the play behind the nexts in exchange for the smaller pads.

The whole rules change thing is a cynical ploy to get people talking about the proposed changes to take the focus off of contract negotiation and the impending labour action.

Agreed...it also made me think that there will be no season next year and these will all be negotiating points with the union...also, it told me that there will be some sort of salary cap because now they can let offense back into the game...without worrying about a 50 goal scorer being worth $20mil a year.

The Sabres now have the Sabre Ice Girls...though mostly what they do is travel around the Arena with Sabretooth.
