I don't see how this helps the Sens now........just like it didn't help them last year. What did he play---Like 2 games last year after the deal?

Here's TSN's article: Ray Day in Ottawa (http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=72080&hubName=nhl )

The biggest shock is that we'll have to find someone else to fill those dry segments with Danny Gare. :drunks:

i read that they really liked his off-ice leadership during the playoffs last year with some of the younger guys on the team, so that probably contributed to the signing. also the fact that the senators get knocked around every game with no one to stand up for them.

I don't think the Sens really got "knocked around" last year in the playoffs. Hell, they'd have been going to OT possibly, had there not been that crap "defensive" blunder in the 3rd period of Game 7 vs NJ.

It's a great idea. They don't have to pay him a full season to ride the pine 4 out of 5 games. But in the playoffs, they may need to bring out the enforcers and Ray provides needed muscle.

I hope he gets his name on the cup

Yeah, I agree with Dozer. I don't understand why you guys aren't excited about this. I'm happy for Rayzor! At least now I'll have something to look forward to once the Sabres season has ended.

I'm excited as well to get to watch Ray get out there and play a couple of games. Wouldn't it be pretty funny if the sabres and the sens met in the playoffs? :D

I was talking about this season, not last years playoffs.

Good luck for Ray although I will miss him at the intermissions...

Maybe so, but Ray wasn't acquired until last year's trade deadline. Usually players acquired at the deadline are for runs in the playoffs.
