So the Sabres scored 21 goals in three games. 13.5% of thier total goal production of the season so far. Why? The sports Illustrated curse in reverse.
from Sports Illustrated Power Rankings (link) (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/hockey/nhl/02/10/power.rankings/index.html) we have the following;
Buffalo Sabres (23-26-5-1)
Daniel Briere and Chris Drury have the offensive abilities to someday be All-Stars, but the Sabres' system isn't geared for scoring and will limit their chances as long as Lindy Ruff is there. J.P. Dumont and Miroslav Satan (2000 and 2003 All-Star) are candidates, as might be Jochen Hecht if he can ever stay healthy. Prospects Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek could emerge in the future, as might whoever stays around in the current netminder platoon of Martin Biron and Mike Noronen.
It may be true, but the curse worked in reverse.
Hope they say we will never win the cup next! :D
