Jeff Morrison of WNSA is reporting the Buffalo Bills have worked out former Iowa Hawkeye QB Brad Banks. I know he was a good college QB but he was cut by the Redskins last year in training camp. What are the thoughts and possibilities of getting this guy?:idunno:

He's worth a look. He could be better than AVP and Brown. They won't know until they check him out.
I never considered out qb depth as a strength last year.

They worked him out today so we'll see if they gave him an offer.

he was a good qb in college, but i believe he only started one year. he was considered a good athlete w/ a good arm, but very raw.

When he played for Iowa State, he had the best offensive line in college football, so any running QB could have done what he did. He had all the time in the world.

Assuming Bledsoe stays and one QB is drafted, I would like to see a new face as the #3. Not sure if it should be Banks, but he is worth a look.

Very true. Mel K lists him at 5-11-202 and ran a 4.69 40 yard dash with a 33.5In. vertical jump. ALso says player who fugures to be limited to backup duty at best in the NFL. I got that from Mel K's draft report last year. May I suggest we get a Mel K smilie.

Someone in USA Today likes him - do not know if he knows college football though.

USA Today - Making a Heisman case for Brad Banks (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/football/bigten/2002-12-11-banks-heisman-case_x.htm)

Article is from 2002 season.

I remember eh got Heisman hype but then again there have been several QB's who have won it and not done squat. All I know is I'm glad that Donahoe realizes we need some QB's for depth and as a future starter and he hasn't gone back on his word. We also signed Greg Zolman and sent him to NFLE.

Brad Banks played for Iowa. Seneca Wallace played for Iowa State.

Banks had one of the all time low Wonderlick scores. :hitself:

He also had 1-2 decent years then fell off the face of the earth.

Banks I thought was a good prospect and was shocked to see him not get picked. I think he could be a good pickup and he is much better than Travis Brown.
