Who is the best CB available?

The list is Antoine Winfield, Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Ahmed Plummer, Fernando Bryant, Shawn Springs, Will Peterson (RFA).

    I'd rank them:
    1) Winfield
    2) Plummer
    3) Taylor
    4) Vincent
    5) Peterson
    6) Springs
    7) Bryant

Looking at the list I would almost lean towards Winfield. Don't we want to get the best available CB? That list is pretty good however no one wants to downgrade at that position.

If not Winfield I like Plummer he is young. He also played with Nate Clements at Ohio State. He had 30 less tackles than Winfield but he had 3 more interceptions and 4 more passes defended.

Before I had envisioned Woodson, Bailey or McAllister coming to Buffalo but now that they are tagged the best option maybe our own guy.

What do you all think? If not Winfield then who? Or maybe Winfield is the answer? How would you rank the FA CBs?

Plummer might be a good choice IF winfield leaves.

He is not scheduled to be a FA but he may be cut. Of course if he did get cut he would be at the top of the list.

Winfield has 1 INT in the last 2 years. He is great against the run, maybe the best around, but I really want a guy who can make plays and force turnovers.

Plummer had 4 INTs last year. I like him better than winfield for this team

I'd rate Springs ahead of Vincent...just because of Vincent's age. The rest of your ranking looks good, SoCalBillsFan
And I agree...I think Winfield would be best to keep...from a continuity standpoint.

Our INT guy is Clements. We need at least 6 picks from him next year to warrant his stay. His play style is physical, aggressive, and gambling, the perfect complement to AW.
And Springs get injured too much neway..

Considering both are safeties are tacklers and not "INT guys" since in the past 2 years they have picked off a grand total of O passes. We need our other CB to be able to pick off some passes.

I'd love to see us move up to get Taylor. It's probably not going to happen though. As for the best FA corner, I'd say the best fit for the Bills (cap wise and ability wise) would be:

                            1. Ty Law
                            2. Ahmed Plummer
                            3. Fernando Bryant

Id agree with those ratings but Bryant is small and got burned alot in Jax. id take Taylor over him.
