Redskins cut Smith, Armstead, two others

Washington (AP) — Bruce Smith, the NFL’s career sack leader, was cut by the Washington Redskins Tuesday along with Jessie Armstead and two other veterans in moves to help the team get under the $80.6 million salary cap.

Smith’s release was expected. The 40-year-old defensive end had indicated he would retire after passing Reggie White for the all-time sack record in December.

It'll all depend on who offers him the most money...Buffalo or Washington.

Bruce Smith expected to be released by the Skins....

I know he hasn't retired yet, but don't ya think it would be cool if we signed him, and let him suit up for 1 game ( not to play ), but just to end his career as a Bill ( all Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed ). I know some people on this board may not care for BRUCE, but i still got mad love for BRUCE, and i hope they bring him back for a well-deserved swan song.
