Although I don't feel quite as strongly about it as I did a few weeks ago, I would like the Bills to make a statement and select Rivers at #13.

I'd like to see the Bills trade down and grab a guard or center, and get another pick (either this year or next). I like Grove's attitude, but he might be a reach in the first and gone by the 45th pick. Maybe drop back and pick up Carey.

Rivers, Rivers, Rivers, Rivers.

I agree with Jeff, somehow we need to adress the offencive line

Loseman is growing on me. I don't want to pick a QB at 13 unless Roethlesberger slips.

One of these guys will be there at 13-

One of the Williamses at WR (Mike, Roy, Reggie) Udeze, Tommie Harris, Gamble, (and if Ruben Brown is gone ) I'd consider Shawn Andrews and move Jennings or Mike Williams to Guard.

I just posted a link to a mock draft over in the draft zone (imagine that) which assumes a Buffalo trade for Henson. In the draft Buffalo trades down with New Orleans at #18 and picks Will Poole. They also replace the second round 2005 pick they lost in the trade to get Henson. I thought it was interesting. If Buffalo stays at #13 I think the pick will either be Kenechi Udeze or Reggie Williams, either of which is fine with me.

I don't get all the hype Udeze. It seems that he is similar to Flowers and Mike Mamula in that he is rising late. Too much of a risk IMO to take. None of the DE's in this class entice me as difference makers. WR on the other hand...

At #13 the BUFFALO BILLS select Philip Rivers out of the college of NCST

Why Rivers?

If we get Henson, what would be the point of taking Rivers or any other QB in the draft? We need serious help at too many other positions. We should take Udeze or Wiil Smith with our 1st pick, whether or not we get Henson.

OK, as we approach F/A my list would look something like this:
(availability would change this)

Round One
1. Reggie Williams
2. DeAngelo Hall
3. Kellen Winslow, Jr
4. Chris Gamble
5. Randy Starks

Round Two (if WR not taken in 1st)
1. Rashaun Woods
2. Michael Jenkins
3. Derrick Hamilton
4. Ben Watson
5. Antwan Odom

Round Tow (if WR is taken in 1st)
1. Vernon Carey
2. Marquise Hill
3. Ahmad Carrol
4. Ben Troupe
5. Matt Ware

Players I like as sleepers
Jeremy LeSeur, CB, Michigan
Brian King, CB, West Virginia
Ben Hartsock, TE, Ohio St
Josh Thomas, DE, Syracuse (local boy)
Kiery Colbert, WR, USC
Nathan Vasher, CB, Texas

I am also starting to like JP Losman more and more. I have read more good things about him and that his real problem is his footwork. I wouldn't be upset if the Bills took him in the second if he was there.

I think we should trade down, pick up an extra second, then go after either Ben Troupe the TE or an offensive lineman like Grove or Carey...then in the second round pick from the best recievers or QB's on the board

Billsman~

Udeze has always been a great DE, he had 19.5 sacks on the season( 2nd in the Country, I think.) His stock rised greatly when they played Michigan in the sugar bowl and he had a great game with like 3 or 2 sacks on the day.

IMO, I would either stay put and draft Udeze or Williams if one of the two are there or trade down with a team and get an extra second round pick.

1. WR Lee Evans
2a. C Jake Groove
2b. TE Ben Watson

I have a feeling (and pray its true) that they are gonna take Kellen Winslow Jr. and add another weapon for Drew. Could you imagine Winslow, Moulds, McGahee and Henry ... don't know of too many defenses that can cover all four guys especially throwing in Reed, Shaw or whoever else the front office brings in!

I am starting to really like Reggie Williams. I look at what he did against top quality opponents:

2003
1. Ohio St - Chris Gamble - 10 catches - 107 yards
2. UCLA - Matt Ware - 10 catches - 105 yards - 1 TD
3. USC - Dunta Robinson - 9 catches - 115 yards - 1 TD
4. Arizona - Michael Jolivette - 13 catches - 121 yards

I hear ya about Henson. Right now, I'd like to see a trade down.

If they waste the #13 pick on Rivers I'm gonna be pissed off. If Henson goes into the draft either him, Rivers, or Losman will be there at the Bills 2nd rd. pick. I also do not want to draft any tight end in the first three round unless Winslow is there at #13. I don't think they are going o-line at #13, possibly Udeze if he is there, possibly Harris or Wilfolk, but I think you have to go with one of the playmaker wide receivers. I would be happy with any of the Williams'. They must get a player that can play immediately from that 13th pick.

While people have raved about Losman- watching the senior bowl game, you could see that he had mobility and had a great arm- however he looked like he couldn't read the rush. He reminded me of RJ in this regard, mobile yet unaware. I'd steer clear of Losman. But then again I've really only seen him play once.

Brack that's how he plays not just the one game I would love to have either Rivers, Roy W. or Mike W.

All of you who say trade down are complete idiots!! A team trades down when it has numerous holes to fill and that is not Buffalo. The only pick that makes sense is Roy Williams out of Texas. That is by far the greatest need for the Bills. May need to jump the Jets at 12 but this guy is a superstar-he has size, speed, and strength. O-line is a concern buy Villarrial has been added and McNnally the new o-line coach is the best in the league. QB of the future is a need but can be addressed later with Schaub from Virginia. Defense is set and what it really needs is a new coordinator. I know all you novice fans are thinking they were 2nd in the league. Well who the hell cares about yardage allowed. You dont win in this league without creating turnovers and Jerry Grey is a sit-back conservative coordinator. The Bills were dead last in the league in takeaways because they dont blitz!! I didnt realize we signed Jeff Posey to drop back and cover tight ends!!

Greatone, there are three posts in this thread that urge a trade down and one that suggests in as a possibility, versus around 20 that suggest the Bills pick at 13. Does it make you feel good to call people "idiots?" While I don't especially want the Bills to trade down, wanting them to do so would not automatically qualify someone as an idiot. I appeal to your human decency to show more respect. Failling that, I suggest you read the terms of service, because it looks to me like you are violating them in most of your few posts so far.

that would be a dream. but especially if we sign volek, i have a feeling we wont be drafting any qb's on the first day. volek gives us a chance to wait a couple more seasons. this would mean we can go anywhere with our first pick and realistically i would LOVE to have roy williams fall. ive said it before and ill say it again, with the 13th pick in the 2004 nfl draft, the buffalo bills select THE BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE!!
