Falcons release Buchanan, Rogers

Ray Buchanan was hardly surprised when Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora called Monday with some bad news.

"I knew it was going to come," Buchanan said. " I know how the game goes. There's no loyalty no more."

Atlanta waived Buchanan, an 11-year cornerback, and outside linebacker Sam Rogers, a 10-year veteran, two days before NFL teams can bid on free agents....

I think Rogers was kinda emblematic of the Butler era in that he was a good player but not so good that he really deserved the paycheck that Butler granted him.
