I just read that the Lions are asking for a 3rd round pick for QB Mike McMahon. The Browns are trying to work some kind of trade, but don't want to give up a 3rd rounder. what do you think? We probably won't do it, but would yo want to? :feedback:

Going into the NFL free-agent signing period, it appeared the quarterback position was pretty much set for the Detroit Lions.

All of that might change rapidly, though, if the Lions can swing a deal for backup Mike McMahon. The Lions are in trade talks concerning McMahon with the Cleveland Browns, who are reluctant to ante up Detroit's asking price of a third-round draft pick.

McMahon is a restricted free agent, which means if the Lions can't sign him to a long-term contract, he'll become an unrestricted free agent after next season and will be free to leave the team.

Well he would be better than AVP and Brown that's for sure. It could work idf we were still interested in Henson then we could have McMahon and Henson as our backup QB's not bad IMO. Would try an dconvince them to do it for a 4th though.

Nope...there's a reason why he has never been a starter and I don't believe it is because of lack of opportunity.

While I'm not really trying to defend the guy but he has to try an dget playing time over Harrington who was a first round pick an dwho is make a lot of money. As a backup he wouldn't be bad.

5-7 yes... not a 3rd.

I thought he had serious talent when he started a few seasons ago. I am just afraid of the mental impact being benched for Charlie Batch may have had on him.

I'd give up the two 6th round picks we have, for him.

1/6 + 1/6+ = 1/3?

He played quite a bit before Harrington got there. He's no field general. He looks like a dear in the headlights.

Look. We have Drew. AVP isn't going anywhere because he's too cap friendly. No.3 is our draft QB of the future. Period.

They need guys to throw during training camp.

They sign second kickers and punters too.
