    Pro Days A Necessary Evil

    They're called Pro Days, the chance for top college prospects to give NFL teams one final look at what they have to offer at the professional level. But the workout, which usually takes place on the player's college campus, carries more importance for those athletes who bypassed the opportunity to work out at the Indianapolis combine.

    The top ranked players like Mississippi quarterback Eli Manning or Pitt receiver Larry Fitzgerald choose to wait to run their forty-times, and do their bench press reps of 225 pounds until they're on their home turf. While the players see it as an advantage, NFL personnel men know that the conditions are designed to give the prospect an edge.
