What a way to begin the game day thread, with Dallas Drake, oftentimes a dirtbag of the NHL, puts on a nice vicious hit on Zhitnik, knocking him into the boards awkwardly, face-first. Yell all out want, Lindy as you know, the refs see what they want.

Ah, the irony. Drake puts Zhitnik out of the game (or longer?), and then gets the first goal of the game. Hopefully we can pull what we pulled during our last hot streak, and rebound tremendously from giving up the 1st goal.

That may be the single most useful thing I've seen Mair do this season. I was wondering if anyone was going to engage Drake over the hit on Zhitnik.

Speaking of Alexei, I hope we get an update on his condition.

It's been an edgy 1st period. I'm used to seeing the Blues and their borderline dirty tactics, since they play the Sharks so many times per year, but I had no idea there'd be fire and intensity between 2 teams that play 1 time per year. Of course, when you have 2 teams fighting for playoff spots, I suppose it is to be expected.

For the love of all that is unholy, if for some stupid reason Darcy "The Idiot" decides to trade Satan, get something this team can use in return, don't just get the cheapest available player, like usual. The Sharks can use a winger right now, with Sturm hurt. They have plenty of blueline depth, and that's what Buffalo could use most.
