An update to the ongoing story about my wife....
Tania had a mastectomy @ 2 years ago to remove one breast that had recurrent tumors in it. Follow-up care, tests, etc. have all proved negative, so she's healthy with no recurrence.
Anyway, she had a procedure yesterday called a TRAM (Transverse Rectus Abdominis Myocutaneous) Flap to reconstruct her breast. Basically, you are given a tummy tuck and then they move the tissue and a muscle from your abdomen up under the skin to replace the removed breast.

I'm happy to report that she went through the 5-hour procedure in Toronto yesterday with flying colours. I saw her for @ 1/2 an hour yesterday afternoon after she came out of the recovery room and she was pretty groggy & in pain/discomfort, as is to be exected, but in good spirits.
She's going to be in hospital probably until Sunday and then she'll stay at her mom & dad's in the Toronto area until her follow-up appointment on the 24th, so I get to be Mr. Mom for @ 3 weeks. I'm keeping the kids at home, so she doesn't have to worry at all about them & can concentrate on her recovery.
