Chargers | Could Release Boston - from www.KFFL.com
Wed, 10 Mar 2004 08:37:44 -0800

Updating a previous story, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports even if the San Diego Chargers do not trade WR David Boston, they have discussed releasing him for philosophy and financial reasons. The Chargers are expected to trade or cut Boston before March 15 when a $3 million bonus is due to him.

I know the guy can be a punk sometimes but he is huge and has speed. The year he did great was when he had a QB that can throw the ball downfield to him, last year Brees couldn't get it done. I know Bledsoe has no trouble doing it (with time). What do you think about bringing him in, if it is a cheap contract with some good incentives. He is plenty fast enough..:feedback:

id take him he is a speedy wr, and borderline number #1 guy, would be good.

Only prob is affordability and his mouth, not a KJ or TO but in a couple years could be.

Yes if the price is right, he is a MAJOR physical talent. Take the chance with an incentive laden deal and hope someone can tame him.

i would consider him if the contract has a behavior clause which can nullify the contract without taking a cap hit.

some guys are not worth having on your team no matter how talented they are and no matter how cheap they come. Boston is one of those guys.

4.3 is too slow?

No way he'll settle for number 2 money, and we aren't gonna pay anyone else number 1 money.

I shudder to think, with the Viking's extra cap space- what Boston, Marcus Robinson, and Moss would do- if they could ever get the Viking's running game back to a consistent threat.

This team could be frightening on offense.
