Way to represent, Brad! I like seeing this so early on in the game from him.
The Caps-Philly game was fun on Saturday. There were SO many Philly fans there (including my boyfriend!). But we shut them up pretty early on!

Brad Brown in a good fight to start his career here! Nice!

alyson
03-10-2004, 06:33 PM
Now let's get a goal out of Grier, maybe a big hit by Jillson (forgive my ignorance; he's D, right?)

Dozerdog
03-10-2004, 06:34 PM
Yup

Of course, I missed 3/4 of the 1st. I heard Rick and Jim say that Brown was in a fight in the 1st. Welcome to the team, Brad. Jillson looked fairly impressive in what little action I saw in the 1st. Also, it appears that Grier will fill in some of the missing holes that Curtis leaves open, not being around (PK, especially). 1-0 isn't exactly what I expected, but it is a lead.

alyson
03-10-2004, 06:52 PM
Decent first period. Lucky we got that one goal early on.

alyson
03-10-2004, 06:55 PM
Yeah, Brad's fight was good. I think he made a good impression on the team (and on me!).
On Comcast, the Caps GM (I think that's who it is) is saying they didn't want to trade Grier, but when our young player came up they felt they had no choice but to take him. I think Grier will fit in well with us.

I suppose a Devil's Advocate could say it helps immensely for their 1st games as Sabres to be against a lesser team like the Craps!

Hey, the Craps beat the Flyers on Saturday, Mr. Devil's Advocate!

I love Olie, I feel bad for him. But we're on a roll! And McKee and Mair scored? Crazy day indeed.

McKee and Mair scored? did that just happen??

So much for the next goal going to the Caps, eh, Alyson?

alyson
03-10-2004, 08:05 PM
Yeah, well, I lost... but I'd rather we crush them (although I do love Olie!) than I win the guessing game! Why do we so easily dominate them, but can't play more evenly otherwise?

qcsabresfan84
03-10-2004, 08:06 PM
nice, Grier with another helper.

Makaveli
03-10-2004, 08:07 PM
wow this has to be one of my most favorite games this season :D Brown (fellow Newf :D) with his fight with Berry, and of course Grier's, now one of my favorite sabres, goal and 2 assists

qcsabresfan84
03-10-2004, 08:13 PM
McKee's goal just got credited to Hecht.

alyson
03-10-2004, 08:15 PM
Oh well for McKee. Nice goal by Briere. I'm telling you, this is a bad representation of Olie's skill. But nice to see two solid games by the Sabres against the Caps this season (don't forget, I don't have a hockey package!)
Don't count us out quite yet!

Makaveli
03-10-2004, 08:18 PM
brown got an assist! what a perfect game :D

qcsabresfan84
03-10-2004, 08:20 PM
Brad Brown picks up his first point as a Sabre with an assist on Briere's goal.

alyson
03-10-2004, 08:22 PM
I like Brad Brown. He's hurt, and he stayed out there and helped kill the penalty til the whistle blew. Good guy!
Remember Briere's first game last year? He got a penalty like ten seconds into his first shift! And he's turned out awesome.

qcsabresfan84
03-10-2004, 08:24 PM
Just two more goals and i'll win the lucky pick

alyson
03-10-2004, 08:26 PM
ummm... not gonna happen! Nice game.

I'm sure no one will have trouble believing that that was Biron's first shutout of the season.

Hecht didnt go to college in the US, if he even went at all. But Grier and Drury did play together at Boston U.

During the game, the Caps announcer ssaid Drury lobbied Rieger for over a week to get Grier.

Darcy wanted him, but didn't want to give up the Czech prospect we got from Ottawa for Varada.

DC insisted, and Darcy caved. Both GMs think that prospect will net 20-25 goals per season on average in the NHL.

Klepsis is good but I don't think he will play in the NHL. Ottawa couldn't sign him so they shipped him to us we couldn'ty sign him so we shipped him to the Capitals.

It's Grier, Skate, not Griere!!

All of the team's new acquisitions looked sharp tonight, but again, sorry to be Devil's Advocate, but it was the Caps. A real test coming up next, with the home & home against Boston. :scared:

I watched Most of the PVR Recording..

If Someone Provides Webspace I'll Take the Goals and the Fights and Record them to My PC and Put them Online for The Unfortunate Peoples to View..

Jillson Was Hitting and Taking Shots.. I Counted 5 Shots By Jillson In the 3rd Period alone, Granted only 1 Made it to the Net.. Other 4 Were Deflected Wide or A Washington Defenseman Stopped It..

You can't do what makavelli does with the fight clips?

SkateZilla
03-11-2004, 11:57 AM
Nope,

I'll Host It On My PC Thru FTP Server and Just Post the Link,

Beware My Max Upload is 30kb/sec So If Theres Only 1 Person At a Time Download You'd Be Alright But if 4+ Are DOwnloading You'll Be Slow as A Moose

I'll Post the Link when I Finish COnverting It ...

im Not Happy With Comcast's Quality.. But I Dont Have hte Time to Noise Filter It... So it Wont Be "DVD" Picture :)

K,

It'll Be a Few More Hours..

I havent Used Divx In a Year or So So I have to Re-Learn the Properties and the Variables in the ADV. Settings.

The File Size Will Be anywhere from 50- 150 Mb..
The Running Time is 8 Minutes 58 Seconds,
640x480, 29.976 Frames/sec

SkateZilla
03-11-2004, 01:39 PM
Well DIVX5 Doesnt Seem to Wanna Work,
So I'll Use MPEG-1 With Noise Reduction and De-Interlacing at 480x360
