According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Winfield's $10.8 million in bonus money wasn't a signing bonus but a roster bonus

Great move- 12.5 of the 35 Millon is paid now, with 22.5 Million over the remaining 5 years- or about 4.5 Mill per year- very affordable
