Denard Walker? But he might only be cut or traded, if he demands it.

"Sorry Willis, but Travis Henry IS the guy for Buffalo"

Spoken like a true moron - at least give the guy a chance.

Dale Carter is a strong possibility- from the Saints.

But he's a nut case

Most importantly- you need a trading partner.

If you are a GM and are interested in a guard like Ruben- would you give up a pick or player AND have to pay him 4.5 million a season? Or would you sit tight, wait until he gets cut- pick him up for free and probably sign him much cheaper than his old deal.

If the Pats cut Law after June 1st it will only cost then 2.5 mil this year and 2.7 next year.

If the Pats trade or cut Law before then it will cost them over 5 mil this season.

However, Law's current cap number is over $10M, so they save over $5M this year by releasing or trading him before June 1, and don't have any remaining dead money in 2005.

That said, how can they trade Law without first getting a suitable replacement? If the Pats sign Lynch (or Vincent or Taylor), then I'd say they would entertain a trade, but they aren't going to trade one of their best defensive players without a backup plan. Remember, they may have cut Milloy last year, but they had signed Rodney Harrison.

At any rate, the only way I see him not being traded is if he decides to fufill his promise to refund them his remaining bonus money in exchange for being released. Perhaps then, otherwise the guy has value. They are in pretty good cap shape right now.
