View Full Version : Lindros gets game misconduct for boarding
Speaking of guys losing it, fresh off a 1 game suspension for a high-sticking incident against Montreal, Rangers C Eric Lindros got a 5 min major & game misconduct for boarding the Leafs Wade Belak, not 5 minutes in the game at MSG.
The guy's not gonna do his team any good sitting in the dressing room :down:

That was a bad penalty. It looked to me like Lindros aimed his knee at Belak's head.
And tried to butt-end him on the follow-through

With all the cheap shots and elbows especially, I have seen him deliver throughout the years and get away with, I had no empathy for him when he got his bell rung. He's one more ring away from never playing again, and someone WILL get him.

Lindros' hit did not look that bad to me. Belak is a sissy boy.
Belak was falling before Lindros hammered him with his knee. If he would have left it at that, no penalty, but the follow-through butt end is what the refs would have seen...It didn't even connect, i.e. Lindros's stick hit the boards, but I think it was more of an "intent" call.
Don't get me wrong...I've always liked Lindros' style of play as long as he can stay out of the penalty box. I think the match penalty carries an automatic league review, so you may see Mr. Lindros with even more time off.

If they suspend Lindros for that, they should banish Gilmore, Tucker, and Domi.

That call was ridiculous. The refs should be suspended.
The ref who called it was on the left side of the play & the instant replay (that showed lindros butt-end missed belak & hit the boards) was on the opposite side. The left ref doesn't have the benefit of the instant replay, and he just called it as he saw it. It looked like a vicious butt-end from his angle. Just like in the NFL, penalties are not reviewable....the ref's call stands, wrong or not.
It'll be interesting what Colin Campbell decides...again intent to injure & past history (i.e. he just came off a 1 game suspension) could spell another suspension for the big guy.

it was penalty for sure, not suspension worthy though, he shouldn't have been kicked out fo the game either. but it was a penalty. EE you are so bised it sicken me!

watch closely, his knee mashes his head into the boards. find a picture of Belak, how do you think his face got mangled like that. i am not being biased here, i already said he shouldn't get suspended or even kicked out fo the game, but it was a penalty. do you guys even know the rules?
