I suspect that by week 4 he is embroiled in a running back controversy that will end with Henry being traded or McGahee's legs falling off again.

On draft day we trade him to Atlanta for Peerless Price and the Bills go on to win Superbowl 39.

I think he'll put about about 500 yds (about 4 ypc) and say about 45-50 cathces for another 400 yds. He'll be a great 3rd down back this year. Going into 2005, he might be the starter.

 i wish, that would be AWESOME. i expect him to be that good some day, but i think hell have to many 1 and 2 yard gains to offset the many 10+ yard gains hell have this season. itll take him a while to get used to NFL speed because he is a cutback runner

i wouldnt call him a cutback runner.. he can cutback well.. but he can pretty much run however he needs to to get the job done.. he will bull people over if necessary.. or outrun them.

Henry maintains the starting role w/ 1500 yd season. 12TD

McGahee gets 600 yds mostly in 3rd down role 5TD.
30 catches for 350 yds

Bills #1 rushing Offense in league

( 28th passing :( )

2100 might not be good enough for #1 rushing offense.

If he is back to pre-injury form in camp and during pre-season (BIG if), then I predict he takes over the job on day 1. Reason being that a) he is a better back than Henry (if he plays like he used to) and b) ticket sales. Face it, this is a business and McGahee starting will draw more people.

but theres no way TD would piss off henry that quickly and just start mcgahee on the first game. im really really curious to see how good mcgahee will be considering he was supposed to be a top 3 pick. but do top 3 picks even contribute right away? im really excited

Yeah, that's unlikely. But I do feel there will be at least some mild controversy there sometime during the year. But the coaching staff should be able to handle that, they've been through it before.

If MaGahee is a franchise caliber back he's going to have some pretty big value on the field. I smell something closer to a platoon. He might start out with 3rd down duty but eventually they'll want to use him in more situations. Then there's the inevitable games lost by Henry to injury where MaGahee comes in fresher and excels.

They do need to keep Henry's value up so they'll give him plenty of opportunity to demonstrate he can still do what he's done the last two seasons. But he'll probably be closer to 1100 yards rushing with MaGahee around 900.

When was the last time a team has two 1000 yard rushers?

Why would TD care if he pisses Henry off? He has to put the team in the best position to win, and if McGahee is better suited to do that, then he will do it.(actually it would probably be MM that has the call on who starts, although I'm not naive to think TD won't have something to say as well)

In addition, since TD took a huge chance on McGahee, he is would love to have McGahee start if he can play. It would justify his risk.

because a lot of buffalo fans, staff, and players all love travis because of his toughness and play last year. if TD benched travis before the season even started, i think its fair that everyone would be pissed, and henry would demand out.

mcgahee cant be good.. he has zero carries and no catches after one year.. he is no different than bannister. :D

McGahee: 400-700 yds 3-8 TD 3.0-5.4 ypc

Well I agree that people like him for his toughness, but do you remember how people felt when he had fumble-itis? It started to turn the other way rather quickly. At the end of the day people love their team winning more than the individual players.

Drew is a perfect example - people love him (I even like him alot as a person), but if they could get Peyton Manning tomorrow they would have no problem saying goodbye to him. It's just the way it goes.

So if McGahee comes in and blows the doors off the hinges in camp and preseason, and then continues to do so Day 1, nobody will complain about him starting over Travis....except for Travis....and then at the end of the season he'll be traded. Again, that's just the way it goes. Nothing personal.
