the last 3 seasons, we have had home openers on the opening week. So this season I am going to say we start of on the road. Also we hav indeed played the last two opening season games against division oponents. My pick is

Eb you suck. I was going to start a thread like this today!

Here’s my breakdown!

Last year, they replayed the Championship games in week 1. I believe it was a success and I foresee them doing the same thing again. Carolina plays in Philly this year and NE plays in Indy. The NE vs. Indy Match up is Primo and I will just about guarantee it will be the Monday night opener. At first I thought that they would put NE in the Thursday night opener but it seems to me that the NFL likes the big games on MNF.

If NE-IND is the Monday nighter, look for Car at Phi as the Sunday night game but this one could also be the Thursday night game.

I think the NFL wants big markets with good teams for the Thursday night game. Philly would be a great place for the game and sure Carolina went to the Superbowl but I don’t think the NFL would like Carolina in the league opener. Also looking at last years openers, most of them involved 2 teams with a past! Buff-NE, Phi-TB, NYJ-Was, Oak-Ten!

So I was thinking Dallas for the Thursday night opener. Up and coming team, big market, big coach, Keyshawn. Problem is, they don’t play any big time home games. The NFL is not putting NO, Pitts or Cleveland on the Thursday night opener. So this is my thought, Denver or Miami. I could see them going with an AFC team, since the NFC got the first 2 games. If it’s Miami, I could see them getting St. Louis or Tenn. And if it’s Denver, I could see them getting KC or Miami. I’m going to say it’s Miami at home against St. Louis.

So my breakdown so far

Thursday night – St. Louis at Miami
Sunday night – Carolina at Philly
Monday night – Indy at New England

What does that mean for the Bills, nothing much except for the fact that I don’t see us playing NE or Miami.

Sticking with the theory that the NFL will stick with the idea of putting teams with history’s together, I tried to figure out who the Bills have a history with

Jets - Yes, but other then the division thing, nothing too much. The Sam Cowart thing is old news, and Winfield ended up not signing with them.

The entire NFC West, Stl, Sea, SF and Arizona, No connection at all!

Oakland - nothing recent
Houston – nothing at all
Baltimore – nothing at all
Cleveland – They’re close! We haven’t played them in almost 10 years I don’t see it happening
Cincy – This was my first thought, but the connection is not as strong as it was last season. This would be my second choice
Pittsburgh – I think Eb is right on with this one. Dick Lebeau is the DC down there, Mike Mularkey is the head coach up here. The whole TD thing! Not many key players on each team but there are a few! I think it’s a slam dunk:

BTW, the Schedule came out on April 3rd last year. I printed it up the day it came out and it's haning on my cube wall with the date on it.

Where did you get the comeback game? I was looking to buy one and found one on Ebay but it was two poorly copied VHS tapes out of Atlanta, and it misses a little action. I thought they sold copies of the game around here, but can never find them now.

OK, I'll take everything into consideration and just wing it. I pick Miami at home at 1:00 pm just because we haven't done that in a few years. The NFL has been nice to us and given us Miami at home later in the season that last couple of years and now is probably the time to go back. I would have said NE again, but Patrick's arguement was too compelling. :)

Now how the heck to I give them to the other guy?
