In 2003, the Panthers were certainly a surprise. Even the Bengals were surprisingly good, and just missed the playoffs.
Who will it be this approaching season?
AFC:
My pick is Jacksonville. I think they improved over the course of the season last year, and Leftwitch is going to tear it up.
NFC:
My pick is Detroit. They have had several years of high first rounders that will be coming of age. They've been fairly active in FA, addressing some needs. I think the Lions could have a season like last year's Bengals, and just miss making the playoffs.

I agree with you on Jax. I'm hoping we're the other in the AFC. I'm really not sure about the NFC. Let me think about it a little and get back to you. The Lions' youth makes them a possible choice but the lack of a RB will hurt unless a rookie comes in like Portis did.

AFC: I am trying not to be biased here... but I honestly think the bills will go from 6-10 to 10-6, fighting the pats for division title.
NFC: Redskins, unfortunately.

Bite your lip, man!! Living here in the capital region for the last several years has really taught me to hate the Redskins.

I think the Carson Palmer thing is going to be a HUGE flop for the Bengals and it willl be like old times again.

Gotta go w/ Buffalo, and not just b/c they are my team. They will be a playoff team this year.
In the NFC, the surprise ( other than the Skins, which isn't a surprise IMO ) is the Chicago Bears.
