Hey guys and Gals-

The Billszone staff is conducting a Mock draft to publish on our website - Problem is- we have come to an impasse for Buffalo's pick- we can't decide who to take in Rd 1.

We were all happy (OK- everyone was happy but me- I wanted Shaun Andrews) that Big Ben was available- but now there have been some picks made ahead of the Bills that took us by suprise- the obvious selections (Stud WR, OL, CB) are all gone.

Who would you take considering what was taken off the board??

I say Ben Watson.

Mark Campbell sustains his blocks and doesn't drop many passes, but he lacks the speed and agility of elite pass-catching tight ends. Running back Travis Henry is dangerous, and Buffalo needs a tight end who can make defenses pay for overplaying the run and biting on play-action.

I'm torn between Nat Dorsey (who you can make a guard) and Darnell Dockett- an undersized but very quick DT who I'd like to try out at DE untill he bulks up

You know that Roy Willaims pick really screwed thing up IMO.

I agree and I can't see him going that early!

Had I not voted for Ben Watson, because of his athleticism and speed, Iwould have voted for your WR option; Henderson, Jenkins, Hamilton. I felt as if the need for a guard isn't that critical at this point. Dockett is certainly an option though. He gives you some versatility. Left defensive end now and defensive tackle later in his career.

He's outperformed Mike Williams in all the workouts, and has 2 more years under his belt.

If I had to choose straight up- I'd take Roy over Mike at this point.

Besides- Flip flop where Mike and Roy went and no one would blink

That may be so but in the long run Mike Williams will be much better IMO. Who knows though these things are tough.

Yes but I think Arizona selects "Big Ben". then that changes the selection process.

I think Rivers will go before Ben also, and I would go with Watson

All this love for a TE- for the offense this team will be running - (Power running game) bothers me.

There are plenty of good TE's in this draft- Utech, Harstock, Cooley- or that 326 pound mauler from Arkansas - Peters- I can't see grabbing a guy who has great skills - but won't be used often.

Get someone who can make an impact immediatly.

I'd have to go Michael Jenkins.

He's very tall and ran a 4.38

We can get Ben Utecht in a later round.

Darnell Dockett... very active penetrating DT....Pat & Sam aren't getting any younger...
Working with Krumrie will make this kid a star!

Later,
Pat

Keep the faith!

Yes we will be using the running game quite a bit but we will be passing a lot more than people think as well. It may not be the huge 20+ yard passes but I can see us doing a lot of 5-10 yard stuff.

SABURZFAN

i'd go with donnell washington-DT-Clemson

I don't recall Pittsburgh using the TE very much if at all

Well I just assume with us having a former TE as a coach and 3-4 other coaches who have taught TE's that we will be using them more.

BTW I chose Darnell Dockett- allthough I would love Dorsey here. I just feel there is less quality at DT later, and you can still get a decent guard

DraftBoy

Id go with Dorsey, we have a big void at G already and if we decide later to move Jonas inside, Nat could make the move outside, your set for at least one more season at DT with Adams and Williams and Edwards isnt too shabby behind either of them. Dockett would not bring as much as Dorsey would b.c I think he would likely start and beat out Tucker in camp for the RG spot.

I haven't heard anything about Dorsey being able to play guard. I also have heard he has weight issues.

and he was terrible at combine.

If we pick an O-Lineman here it should be Chris Snee

I'm not sure who i think the bills will take but i think SD WILL TAKE A WR BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE A NUMBER 1 WR!!!

I was thinking that...but last time they didn't get a Manning, it bit them in the ass. Now they get a Manning, plus a future #1 WR in Lee Evans in the 2nd round.

I also want a TE who doesn't fall down after he catches the ball. I wnt a TE who catches it and has the ability to make something happen and I think Watson can do that.

Excuse me then LG, also Spaz he played both OT and OG at GT so he is capable of playing both posistions and his weight issue is there but he is supposedly working out hard at GT to get it down. Hes a steal in Rd. 2.

I went with the WR selections. As Sozer pointed out, Pittsburgh didn't use the TE extensively in their system, and there's no reason to think Clemets will do so here. I'm also disinclined to draft a guy with the expectation of converting him away from his familiar position. Granted, Wire has done it, but the breaking in period can be accelerated by playing the guy in his "natural" position whenever possible.
