There are two more seasons left on the NFL's $17.6 billion television package with ABC/ESPN, Fox and CBS. That doesn't mean it's too early for negotiations to begin on the next deal.
Commissioner Paul Tagliabue told the owners Monday he expects to hold talks with the networks soon. NFL ratings have remained strong while many other sports -- and general programming -- have declined.
