I like that it means more players that we can pick up an undrafted free agents we can take a look at them longer, Good deal, Ilike it.

For a little bit of cost, teams can develop a few more players. Nothing wrong with that.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

why did they cut it down to 7 in the first place?

12 rounds? No thank you, 7 rounds are plenty. It is very rare that players beyond the fifth round make an impact. Pushing the draft back towards 12 would make the draft process that much longer and unneeded. Talk about a Mr. Irrelevant. I say keep it at 7.

I do like the move for the practice squad though. Like others have said, it allows teams to look at talent longer.

Most players unions are opposed to drafts- and have fought to reduce them. The NBA is all the way down to 2 meager rounds.

It's all about giving the most guys Free agency. 7 rounds is just right. Unless you have a legiimate minor league system to develop football players (NFLE is mis-used and a joke) the 8th round guy and higher will get cut. In the good olld days of the 1960's and 1970's- the draft went 15-16 rounds

So in essence the rich get richer b.c by keeping more players out of the league they are allowing more money to be used on them. That pisses me off!!!! Stupid greedy football players!
