View Full Version : Pick one player, any player!

Let’s have a little fun!

The NFL is letting the Bills take any one player from any team! Or if you prefer, you can take any player from the draft this year! You get this player for ONE YEAR ONLY! This next season he becomes a free agent! The NFL is paying the players salary and it will not count a penny on our cap!

So, we get any current NFL player or any player from this years draft class, for one year, for free!

Who do you take? Who helps us the most this year?

There is no right answer!

A little older, but put him on the line with Williams, Adams and Schobel and our Dbacks would look great because the opposing QB wouldn't have any time to throw.

Too bad we wouldn't get a free sack against Brett Favre this year though.

I think a big time DE, Taylor, Strahan, would make this defense sick.

But I wouldn't want to ignore the O! A WR could make the scary. Imagine the year of Moulds, Price and Henry and then add Willis! Maybe someone like Randy Moss, or Marvin Harrison.

The Gonzo thing is also very interesting. That guy makes an offense go.

I would go with Johnathan Ogden...:)

Drew needs some protection, that is a good place to start. Or possibly Kevin Mawae to achor the center for us.

IMO a great receiver will have little effect. Defenses showed that if they put enough pressure on Drew, especially up the middle, they can eliminate much of the threat from a verticle passing offense. The offense is doing what it needed to do even back when Peerless was here. They need to run the ball more so that the deep pass can be that much more effective.

From MY standpoint, the question begs the answer to the question of what is the Bills most glaring need and who at that position is the best in the NFL. I still feel that Bledsoe could be a huge contrubutor to a run first offense. We ARE weak at the #2 WR position, but how many teams aren't. My opinion on the Bills most glaring weakness is a serious lack of a consistant pass rush. A good pass rush would take a lot of the pressure off the defensive backs allowing them to take more chances to make picks. As much as I like Vick, I don't think he helps out the running game and he definitely doesn't help a defense who has to let receivers catch the ball in short patterns because the DBs have to lay off because we can't get a good pass rush.

You guys miss that playoff game in New England?

I'd take TO, Moss, Holt, and Chad Johnson ahead of Harrison.

Well if Manning has a bad game Harrison can't get the ball.

Well if the officials called the penalties that the NFL has decided that they should start calling again, that game is very different.

 In case you didn't know that receiver has caught 100 balls 4 out of the last 5 seasons and has over 1000 yards receiving the last 5 seasons and has double digit Td's the last 5 seasons.....that is all!

Like I said if the QB isn't gtting him the ball what can he do. Manning was horrible in that playoff game. Also this thread is about who woudl you build you're team around.

If I can have any player in the league, I'm not taking a Center or a Kicker!

I don't know if I should be surprised at how many people have picked a QB!

To me it depends on what kinf of team you want to be a defensive team, on offense a running game or a passing game.

I think if there was one player that could be added to help get us to the next level or be a serious contender, I doubt it would be a WR, TE, K, LB, DB or even OL. I think a case can be made for a QB, but I don't think Vick, McNabb, Manning, Favre, Marino, Montana, or Unitas could have done a whole lot better with the scheme and blocking that Bledsoe had last year. Not saying Bledsoe is on par with some of them, just that Gilbride is an idiot. That's why I think a dominant defensive end could really help put us over the top.

I like Peppers' pass rush ability too, but he must get stronger and become more of a factor against the run. That's how most teams were able to neutralize him last season; they ran at him more.

Peppers was amazing when he ran down Vick an dclocked him as Vick was just getting to the sidelines.
