Now I really think we are going to make a run at Rivers.

Mularkey studying Bills' needs in draft

A speedy No. 2 wide receiver, quarterback are top priorities.

“This is a good year for both those positions,” Mularkey said. “At receiver, I think there will be guys who end up in the second round who could be first rounders in other years. There will be a couple options when we get to our pick and we’ll have some tough choices and those two positions will probably be one of them. ... We may have to use all of our 15 minutes.”

At quarterback, Mississippi’s Eli Manning and Miami-Ohio’s Ben Roethlisberger are top five talents who will be long gone, but there’s a shot that North Carolina State’s tremendously productive Phillip Rivers will be there when the Bills select.

Mularkey doesn’t mind Rivers’ side-armed delivery and scouts believe Rivers is the most ready to play at the NFL level right now, meaning he could back up Bledsoe and eliminate the need to sign a veteran No. 2.

Sounds like he believes we could find a good enough WR in round 2, so hopefully we will get Rivers.

If Gorve is still there in the 2nd, I'd rather take him over a WR.

Although C is still a spot that could use revamping, since Teague isn't the greatest, I definitely think we should go WR before that. I can only imagine that Clements will improve the line, but we need better talent on our WR core...and speed, which will be available in the 2nd.

I agree Kardshark but Grove would be sure hard to pass up in the 2nd.

          QB in 1st, C in 2nd.

Wouldn't tick me off at all.

Hope it's Big Ben but Rivers would be ok too.

MM was in Rochester yesterday inspecting the training camp facilities. He said he hasn't counted out Kordell , Doug Johnson and will actually see who's available after June 21st. This might mean he'll see which qb we draft before we decide to hire a qb for no.2 spot.
