Longtime NFL broadcaster Pat Summerall is in stable condition after receiving a liver transplant Saturday at St. Luke's Hospital.

Summerall, who is 73 and a Lake City native, underwent the 2 1/2-hour procedure after spending eight days on the Mayo Clinic's waiting list, hospital spokesperson Evelyn Tovar said. St. Luke's is operated by the Mayo Clinic.

Transplant surgeon Jeffrey Steers reported no complications during the operation and said Summerall is recuperating in the hospital's intensive care unit.
