Bills executives aren't letting on about any plans for Draft day, coming up on April 24, but at yesterday's pre-Draft press conference, you kind of get the feeling they know more abot their plans than they're letting on.
The only thing that president and general manager Tom Donahoe would say about his plans is that "we met this morning and we'll probably take a running back first, but other than that, the Draft's wide open."
Realistically, the position most likely to be filled with the 13th overall pick will be either a quarterback, a receiver or a defensive end with names like North Carolina State's Philip Rivers, Texas' Roy Williams, Southern Cal's Mike Williams and Kenechi Udeze and Ohio State's Will Smith.
"A lot of times you don't know until it starts, until you get into it," said Donahoe. "There'll be plenty of speculation out there this week, next week, as far as who's doing what, who likes whom ... If it's to our advantage to trade up, we'll look at that. If it's to our advantage to trade back we'll look at that as well. I don't know that we ever go into a draft and say 'this is the plan,' other than the fact that we want to add some good football players to our team."
