With the rumor running rampant about the possibility of Plaxico Burress being traded on draft day, which teams would be the most likely to trade for him and how would the Steelers benefit from this?
-- Dan, Pittsburgh

I'll answer in reverse order: The Steelers' main benefit would be jettisoning a head case who has failed to live up to his first-round draft status. As for which teams would be interested, the Bills, Buccaneers, Titans, Chiefs and Panthers come to mind -- but not for a No. 1. Burress might bring a middle-of-the-pack second-round pick, but this year's draft is deep at WR, so even that may be wishful thinking. Pittsburgh's best hope is for Plax to get out of the fog he's been playing in and elevate his game

For a 2nd or 3rd next year I would say do it!

I think Plax is still pretty good....I mean, come on he has had Kordell and Tommy Maddox throwing to him. If he had a QB with an arm maybe he could excel, he definitely has the speed.

If we did the trade I would say for no more then a 3rd then we could get Rivers/Roethlisberger in the first and Jake Grove in the 2nd....Then, theoretically Plax in the 3rd. I would be ok with that.

I would give up a 3rd in a heartbeat. He isn't too old either!

I'd give them a 5th next year...conditional...and a bag of footballs.

I guess his 2 consecutive 1000 yard seasons we're terrible and he still had 800 yards last year with a terrible QB, not bad if you ask me.

Yeah, and what is bad with that draft I posted if we got him for a 3rd rounder?

I think his draft is all wrong. Therefore, I'm calling him a Douche bag!

Which would show more consistency then our current WR Eric Moulds. Who tends to play big one year and die down the next.

I would venture as far as giving up a second rounder. We could trade down in the first for an early 2nd and a late 1st. Then we could get carey, grove with the earley 2nd, and trade our 2nd to the steelers for Plexiglass

i would too.. because there is no way that that would go up based on the type of offense we "should" be running.. max he would have is 1100.

Just like I said ....A 3rd round pick....But Patrick said my draft of

1. Rivers/Roethlisberger
2. Grove
3. Plax

was terrible...I just don't see how getting those 3 would be bad at all.

I think he could turn his career around with E. Moulds mentoring him. Moulds is one of the hardest working players in the league .
As for him taking a year off he was hurt you moron.

I'd rather see them try to trade up to get Big Ben but Williams would be a good selection. Take Losman in 2nd. But I'd rather keep the draft picks and let the steelers unload Plax on someone else.

Plaxico is well worth a 3rd pick. Hey, we're going to draft a WR at some point in this draft anyway, why not use a 3rd pick to get a guy with experience, who knows the current Bills coaches and offense, and that has proved his worth in the NFL. He faultered last year, yes, but with those mistkes ,and 2nd to Ward, he still produced more than our 2 man last year. I would be more comforatble with Plax than gamble on a rookie.

Of course, this entire idea is completely hypothetical anyway.
