Kicking off with our annual early-bird look at the Buffalo Bills schedule and projected record for the 2004 season:
Sept. 12 JACKSONVILLE. A good time to play an improving but young opponent, including a quarterback in his first full season as a starter. WIN (1-0 record).

Sept. 19 at OAKLAND. Age and injuries caught up with the Raiders last season. QB Rich Gannon is coming off surgery on his passing shoulder. WIN (2-0)....

the month of October could make or break our season.that early bye week could be a blessing in disguise.

Bob Matthews has been a pessimist for years, especially when it comes to the Bills. The one problem I have with this: Does he REALLY think we're going to lose 3 STRAIGHT DIVISION GAMES, especially coming out of a bye week and two of them being at home?

That stretch is going to make or break the season, and for all the problems this team has, I still can't see them lying down and losing all 3.

he has us losing to the fins at home and then beating them at Miami?

Agree for the most part but I think we go 8-8 based on our D and our (at this point) mostly un-improved offense. Who knows...WM might explode and could spark the whole offense.

I agree that 9-7 is a likely outcome, but I doubt we'll lose 3 straight in the division

I'm surprised he came up with a record as high as 9-7. He is constantly bashing Bledsoe on his radio show, basically saying that they'll never have another winning season with Bledsoe at the helm. He does have us winning five of the last seven, but our season might be lost by then (if it happens like he's predicting it).

I agree, Matthews is always quite negative and pessimistic. I don't really give much thought to his articles or views.

Tough schedule, Hopefully 9-7 but probably not. But who knows this is the NFL anything could happen.

I dont think this is a hard schedule at all. Other than the divisional games the only games worth fearing are the Seattle and Baltimore games which I think we can win anyway.

they differance between 9-7 and 10-6 can be between one kick, a refs call, one dropped catch etc. iIn the NFL i think there r two groups winning teams and losing teams..... the bills will be a wining team

Dec. 19 at CINCINNATI. A toss-up but I can’t see the Bills finishing the regular season with a five-game winning streak. LOSS (7-7).

But he apparently had no trouble seeing a 4 game losing streak.

Loser.
