I think TD would take that trade if it was really offered

I would too- Draft Big Ben at #6, and Jackson at 13- Jackson will be a better pro than Henry, provide insurance for McGahee. Or trade the 13 to Philly (they like Jackson alot) and get more picks in Rd 2

I think he should too seeing we would have the 6 and 13 picks that could really help our team in a lot of areas.

Detroit would be quite a solid team with TH in the backfield, imho.

They would probably be better with Jackson.
Here's the deal- Jackson is the best RB in the draft. Detroit wants him, but not at the 6th pick- mainly because they think he's a mid-1st round pick (they are right) and don't want o pay him top 6 money. Trading with Buffalo makes sense, especially if these Big Ben rumors hold any water.

But to Trade Henry straight up for the 6th is stupid. Jackson is a better back in the long run than Henry and they would rather just draft him than trade for TH. Jackson would be cheaper vs the cap in the long run than Henry would.

I'll bet if there was any discussion, it was Henry and the 13th for the 6th. That makes all the sense in the world, and is appropriate trade value.

Then again though you have a potentially better back for a already good back. You take the sure commodity or risk it all? I could see it being Henry, and say a 1st or 2nd next year for #6. That makes sense to me. Personally I take Jackson bc he is better IMO.

Why do people think Henry is worth more than he really is just because he is on our team. No team is going to give us a top 10 pick for Travis Henry. We would be the ones laughing if we were offered that

No kidding. If it was really offered like that (straight up TH for #6?? Are you kidding me???), Henry would've already received the little farewell teddy bear that TD bought from CVS.

I really don't understand this either. As I posted earlier, no way any team gives up that much for Henry. Travis is a nice back, but has no where near the talent to warrent a top ten draft pick as compensation for a trade.

I have to agree with one thing here. It amazes me how much some of us are over-rating TH right now. THe guy can't break the long TD. I mean he's a solid runner but he's NOT ELITE. for a #6 TD would get charged with armed robbery.

I like Henry's style but i'm not crazy.

Big Ben figures to be off the board by 6. If the Raiders pass on Gallery they are out of their minds. The Giants would take Ben or Gallery. We would have Taylor or Winslow at #6.

I will say it again, maybe the last time. Trade back for another second and take Losman late first round, take an OL-men and WR in the second. If not this scenario then an immediate impact player at #13, Harris, Smith, Udeze, Wilfork.

Well if true, and if it's true that TD turned them down, I am very concerned about the extent of the recovery by Willis. :(

If he was confident in McGahee's condition, he would never turn it down, guaranteed.

YOU PPL ARE KIDDING ME, RIGHT? I WOULD'NT TRADE T-HEN FOR A NUMBER 1 PICK AND THE ENTIRE DETROIT LIONS ROSTER! YOU GUYS HAVE TO BE FUCCIN JOKING. HE WAS OUR TEAM LAST YEAR, AND I WOULD TAKE HIM OVER LEWIS, PORTIS, FAULK, AND HOLMES! LET ME SHOW YOU SOMETHING. T-HEN'S STATS WHEN CARRIES 22 OR MORE TIMES:

2001 Rookie season
Week 1: NOR 22 carries 58 yds.

Week 6: JAX 27 carries for 63 yds.

Week 13: CAR 27 carries for 101 yds. 1 td

2002
Week 1: NYJ 31 carries for 149 yds. 3 td’s

Week 6: HOU 28 carries for 159 yds. 2 td’s

Week 7: MIA 22 carries for 132 yds.

Week 11: K.C 24 carries for 126 yds.

Week 13: MIA 35 carries for 151 yds. 1 td

Week 15: S.D 22 carries for 144 yds. 2 td’s

Week 17: CIN 30 carries for 80 yds.

2003

Week 1: NE 28 carries for 86 yds. 2 td’s

Week 5: CIN 25 carries for 85 yds. 2 td’s *from here on, all games played cracked rib cartilage

Week 7: WAS 31 carries for 167 yds. 2 td’s

Week 8: K.C 22 carries for 124 yds.

Week 11: HOU 23 carries for 149 yds.

Week 12: IND 22 carries for 77 yds. * from here on, all games played with cracked rib cartilage and broken leg

Week 13: NYG 26 carries for 113 yds. 1 td

Week 14: NYJ 32 carries for 169 yds. 1 td

Week 16: MIA 24 carries 67 yds.

GET HIM THE FUCCIN BALL, AND HE WILL BE THE BEST IN THE LEAUGE, NOT NOW BECAUSE OF MCGAHEE LIMITING HIS CARRIES, BUT HE IS ONE OF THE BESTS IN THE LEAUGE, AND TO EVEN CONSIDER THIS IS JUST UNTHINKABLE. I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK UP ON THIS SITE N E MORE. STUPID THREAD, AND ANALYSTS SUCH AS SALISBURY AND CLAYTON WOULD LAUGH AT THIS FAKE RUMOR, AND IF IT WAS TRUE THEY WOULD SAY THE SAME THING I AM SAYING. FOGET IT, T- HEN IS WITH THE BILLS, AND HE ISN'T GOING NO WHERE!

There is another possibility....

TD could have told Detroit to wait until Draft day. Why would you make this deal if you have no idea if the player you covet will be there at #6? If they really want Ben Roethlisberger...imagine if they traded for #6 and he wasn't there. Wouldn't you be pissed?

At one point when first referenced the popular opinion was that it was absolutly positivly out of the question, an Idiots Trade it was called, but now it seems some are warming up to the posibility of getting a Top Knotch QB of the future and maybe a Top Flight Reciever for him to throw to in the Future.

Mr. Cynical

Agreed, nothing will happen until draft day. But I really hope this one is true and that TD is just playing his cards. Trading TH straight up gives us the #6 and the #13, which could really pour some serious top notch cement into the foundation of this team.
