I agree with this article that 40 times are overrated. I think more of the scouts should focus more on what happened on the field & not what happens once their college careers are over (barring injuries & arrests of course). Yes, the combine helps evaluate prospects, but if an athlete gets it done on the field, that should be enough, speed, size, & strength are bonuses.
Note: We drafted Don Beebe from Chadron State :whatthe: in 1989 based on his 4.21 40yd dash.
