    Chargers vs. Manning

Chris Mortenson was just on ESPN news. He reported the Giants are trying to lowball the Chargers in the trade so it is looking like the the Chargers are going to say screw it and draft Manning against his wishes.

He also said he has it from a very good source as he smiled(he had just interviewed Archie an hour ago) that Eli will refuse to sign with the Chargers if they do indeed draft him.

Yeah, there is no way he won't sign. That is an absolute joke. I mean, who can pick where they want to go? No one.

Mort was on sportscenter and he said that if the chargers do draft eli that he would "dig in his heels" and sit out the entire season to re-enter the draft in 2005

          Is there an echo?

I think he is just trying desparately to get them to not draft him. If they take him he will eventually sign

              I think it's all posturing.

              SD has options.

3 way trade- Buffalo sends Henry and the 13th pick to swap with Detroit. They Take the 6th pick and next year's #1 to San Diego for the #1 overall.

I'd do it- I wonder if they would. SD gets Rivers, and a #1 next year. Detroit gets their RB and the 13th pick. Buffalo gets Manning or Gallery or Fitz for this year's and nxt year's #1. Next year's #1 will be in the mid 20's anyway... why not?

I would love for Eli, if this is his wish and partly his doing, to go to New York and flounder why the Chargers flourished. It would be poetic justice imo.
