I have my eyes on these 6 guys with our last 2 picks 2 FS, 1 C, 1 OT, 1 OG, 1 K

Brandon Everage FS

A former high school quarterback, Brandon Everage has developed into one of the premier free safeties in all of college football. He has proven to be a true "ballhawk," finishing his Junior year in a tie for the conference lead in interceptions. One of his finest performance's that year came against Iowa State, Where he picked off two Senaca Wallace passes, broke up four more, and recorded a sack on the day. Everage displays very good coverage skills, excels at reading and reacting to what the offense is doing, and adds the ability to rush the passer on the safety blitz. He lacks ideal size and speed for a safety and needs to improve his tackling technique to excel at the professional level.

Everage was a projected first round pick going into his senior season. An injury-plagued senior campaign has dropped his draft stock a little bit. His inability to
workout at the Oklahoma pro day won't help him get back into the first round. You have to admire his leadership and toughness. He played the second half of the season with a torn rotator cuff, risking his draft status to help his team. This kid has the talent to develop into an impact player in the NFL. He should be a late second round pick in April.

Madieu Williams FS

Williams played cornerback for 2 years at Towson Univeristy prior to transferring to Maryland and redshirting his Junior year. He's been a starter at free safety in all 26 games over the past two seasons at Maryland, recording 163 tackles and 7 interceptions for the Terps. Williams has a good combination of size and speed and excels in coverage. He is equally as good in run support, making him one of the better all around safeties in the draft. He needs to add some bulk and has the frame in which to do so. Williams is an underrated player and has all the tools to develop into very good safety. He could be a steal on draft day.

AJ Ricker OC

A.J. Ricker/Missouri
(6-4, 295, estimated 5.29 40 time)
Positives: Possesses a good combination of size and athletic ability. Has been a good college player. Very experienced, a four-year college starter.

Negatives: Will occasionally get his pads too high and will struggle with some of the bigger, more physical defensive linemen. Needs to work on his pass protection skills.

Overall analysis: A.J. Ricker appears to be one of the best senior centers in the country. Ricker redshirted in his first season at Missouri in 1999, and has gone on to be a starter in each of the last four seasons. Ricker is a very smart individual who carries that intelligence onto the football field. He has good size and possesses good athletic ability. Physically, Ricker has everything an NFL scout desires in a center prospect. However, Ricker needs additional technique work. He needs to play with his pads lower on a more consistent basis, and will have some lapses when pass protecting. But overall, Ricker is a solid prospect and has a great chance of being a day one pick if he turns in a good performance as a senior.

Kelly Butler OT

Kelly Butler is a huge tackle with a lot of experience. He's a dominant run blocker, but he could use a little work on pass blocking. He's not the quickest of tackles out there and will probably be relegated to playing the right tackle position only in the NFL. Despite leaving early, he started 38 games in his 3 years at Purdue. He is quick with his hands and uses them to drive defensive linemen out of plays. If he can work on his pass blocking he can be one of the best right tackles in the game. Expect him to go in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Adrien Clarke/Ohio State OG
(6-5, 355, estimated 5.59 40 time)

Positives: Possesses great offensive lineman size and stature. Is a very athletic and powerful player. Has experience playing both guard and tackle.

Negatives: Not as good a player as his skills indicate he should be. Tends to play with his pads too high. Has trouble locating and reacting to defenders when blocking on the move.

Overall analysis: Adrien Clarke is a super-talented offensive lineman that has all of the skills NFL scouts love to see in a guard prospect. Clarke took a redshirt season in 1999, and was the team’s starting left tackle for the majority of the 2000 season. He moved to left guard early on in 2001 and finished the year at that spot. Clarke had some back problems that slowed him at the beginning of the 2002 season, but he regained the starting left guard position by the end of the year. Even though he is still listed at 355 pounds, Clarke lost some weight (currently in the 325-pound range), which he hopes will improve his speed and agility in 2003. From a physical standpoint, Clarke is everything an NFL scout could want. He has great size, strength and is a superior athlete for a man of his size. But while Clarke is a good player, he is not as good a player as his skills indicate he should be. Clarke often gets his pad level too high, which negates his strength. And while he looks very fluid when pulling and moving in space, he is often very late to react to defenders and does have trouble when blocking on the move. Clarke is a good NFL prospect, but he may be an over-rated one. Clarke currently carries a solid late day one grade.

If Everage is still there, I'd love to grab him. He has incredible talent, but a screwy personality. If he can turn things around, he could be a dominant starting FS. Most likely he won't, but it's only a 7th rounder, so it's not like it's a big loss.
