Unlike ex-Bills CB Antoine Winfield, who couldn’t wait to leave Buffalo, we hear that CB Nate Clements loves Buffalo and will definitely listen to the Bills when it comes time to extend his contract. Clements has two years left on his initial NFL deal. Agent Neil Cornrich would not confirm or deny that talks had opened with Buffalo.

Agreed.

Now we just need another CB for the other side when TV starts drooling and needs a walker. ;)

id say both thomas and mcgee have shown considerable potential. they might very well be able to start in a couple seasons when vincent shows signs of aging

I just wanna see him say the same things when his contract comes up. Antoine used to talk like he was happy here as well.

It's all about winning... even a top 5 defense wont keep superstars satisfied for long.

They should try and lock him up now! He will cost a lot less now than he will in 2 years

Awsome ... I liked clements better anyways. I've been to two games where hes caught interception for TDs against the fins. I think he will end to be a Probowler.

Either lock him down soon or make sure the Defense and team are successful... that would keep Gray in place, and thats all it would take to keep Clements satisfied... he doesn't come off as greedy.

An AFC-East title or a Playoff run would keep this staff in place.

we need to re-sign him and Schobal now before the season.

If we wait, the cost goes up, though

Or it goes down if his play isn't as good

Yes and as for Vincent, We just got him and he has atleast 3 more solid years at corner. Then Mcgee and Thomas can fight over the position, they will both be good. I would really like to see what Mcgee can do as a retrun man as well!

Re-signing Clements definitely isn't going to be cheap this year, and since, I believe, he has 2 years left on his deal, he's probably gonna want 2 or 3 added on. In the sal cap era, contracts longer than 3 years are very risk IMO, unless the last few years are put on just to spread out the SB hit, but if that's the case, then there'd be no reason for the extension. Btw, I'm against adding years just to decrease the SB hit as well.

Also, we don't know anything about the future market. Prices/demand for positions seems to work in waves, what was in high demand 2 years ago may not be in high demand 2 years from now.

I say wait at least until after this season.

Great news. Clements is definitely one of the few who needs to be a Bill for all of his effective playing days if not his entire career.

Man, this offseason is turning out great. Great draft, Drew reneg-ing, Clements wanting to stay. I am erasing my 6-10 prediction and considering playoffs.

Nate is going to ball out especially with the contract around the bend... The only thing is he might be too much of a rising star to not lock down as soon as posible.

Look for his picks to shoot back up this year as well as his tackles.
