So here they are, back from Miami with a 4-3 record, above the .500 mark from the first time in the Gregg Williams era. Who can say how things will play out from here? Who can predict what might happen from week to week in the National Football League, where no team is quite as good or as bad (all right, except for the Bengals) as it appears to be.
Raise your hand if you walked out of Ralph Wilson Stadium a couple of weeks ago, expecting the Bills to win their next two games and the Raiders to lose their next two. I thought so.
The Bills are one game behind Miami in the division, a game behind Denver and Oakland in the wild-card chase. It's a team that is gathering confidence with each passing week, one that is growing up in front of our eyes and truly believes it can beat any team in the league.
"We're pretty confident right now," free safety Pierson Prioleau said Monday. "It's not a cockiness, but it's a swagger."
