How long should JP sit on the bench

Recent history has been unkind to rookie QBs

Eli Manning and Philip Rivers are likely to experience the difficulty of starting as rookies.

If DB plays lights out, for as long as DB is here.

If DB stinks up the show, I say bring him in mid season.

I think DB is going to play well this year!

I see a Chad Pennington type of situation...

Could you imagine the last game of the season, both the bills and the steelers have no reason to play their starters, ( pitt missed the playoffs and the Bills are already in, hopefully) Ben vs. JP

I agree. Sit Losman on the bench until Bledsoe is benched... for good. Kind of like Testeverde when the Jets were 0-3 or 0-4 or something and played Pennington.

Didn't we already talk about this?
Someone said "What's he gonna turn out like?" Ha!
And someone else said "Never mind!"

Pennington only played in 3 games total his first two seasons, started none, and then started 12 in his 3rd year. McNair played in 13 games but started 6 in his first two seasons. I'd like to see Bledsoe play well enough to ease Losman in like this. He's a great talent but I think in the same way Pennington or McNair were. Hopefully he doesn't have to start playing in long stretches until at least next year, maybe even 2006. We'll see.
