It's been a long time coming, but finally a northern Cedar Creek Lake area athlete has his name on a National Football League contract.
Make way Buffalo, your NFL Bills now have a new number 66 by the name of David Phillips on their rookie roster.
Phillips, a 1999 Kemp High School graduate, who could rightly get nicknamed Phillips 66, flew to Buffalo yesterday to sign his contact.
"Sure I'm excited," the Stephen F. Austin University two-time Academic All American offensive tackle said earlier this week. "This has been my dream as long as I can remember."
