Mularkey proved in 2001 that he can fix a struggling Gilbride offense. He did so with very little change to the roster. The offense was better because they simplified the schemes and had much better play-calling. So Can Mularkey do the same thing here? I don't see why not. He has some pretty good players to work with in Moulds, Henry, McGahee, Reed, Evans, Bledsoe etc. He also has some very good coaches helping him with Clements, Wyche, and McNally. Only time will tell but I have pretty good feeling that Mularkey will get this offense back on track to go along with our #2 ranked defense.

Wow, I knew the difference was significant, but I didn't realize he took them from dead last to first in rushing... That just completely blows my mind.

Wow, that is one informative post. Thanks a lot. I sure think he can do it cause we have a lot better players then the ones he worked with in Pitt at some positions.

Should be interesting. Hopefully the Pass ranking will actually improve with Buffalo. Can't get much worse. . .

With the RB's on the roster, we should have a strong running game, but I don't think 1st is going to be an open slot this year with the like of KC and Baltimore out there.

Our defense should be different too, despite having most of the same players and the same coaches. If they don't have to spend their time making up for the offense, they should be able to increase their aggressiveness. Plus, the change from Winfield to Vincent will alter how they cover certain schemes - not better or worse, just a bit different.
Still searching for that offensive rhythm.

pitts had a better interior line, but we have better people at every other damn position.

i think we might just have to kick a little ass this year

He better for TD's sake. I felt we were playoff bound w/ the talent we had last year. TD's biggest mistake was GW. Had he picked Fox or someone else, no one would be complaining about TD. Hindsight 20/20. He's done one hell of a job bringing players like Spikes' Milloy , Posey and has manage the cap wonderfully. He's built one hell of a team on paper. Jury is out on Drew only because of GW and KG. There will be no excuses for Drew this year. If MM can fix the likes of Kordell and Maddox but can't w/ Drew than we know Drew was another mistake.

If Mularkey is another mistake, heads will roll. Bills fans deserve better.

I agree. I love what TD has done with this roster but he really messed up with GW. I like the looks of Mularkey and this new staff but we shall see. If this new staff doesn't work out, TD could be in trouble.

Well while I'm posting some stats:

Here is something interesting I found about McNally:

McNally 24 yrs of NFL exp. as OL coach: 1980-1994 Cincinnatti 1995-1998 Carolina 1999-2003 New York

Took over Cincinnatti 1980. 1981 Team goes 12-4 and goes to the Super Bowl
Took over Carolina 1995. 1996 Team goes 12-4 and goes to NFC championship game
Took over New York 1999. 2000 Team goes 12-4 and goes to the Super Bowl

Just another interesting stat I found about this coaching staff. Take it for what you want.
