View Full Version : We should sign Ricky Waters!!

We should sign Waters to a 1 year contract just incase Henry gets injuried.

We have the cap room. Sitting here without a quality backup RB may hurt us down the road. And im sure Ricky would take whatever the Bills offered him.

If Henry goes down with a injury our running game is screwed.

Ricky wants a multi-year big money deal. He's said it's that or nothing. He is set up enough that he doesn't have to play anymore so he's going for the big deal or retirement.

Looks like retirement then. Nobody is going to give him a big deal. His best chance of getting a big deal would be by playing and showing he had something left in the tank.

We also don't need a guy who's only in it for the money.

You're going down, TDRJ :D

Whats wrong with Ricky? He would be a good fit if something happened to Henry.

Plus he would be motivated to play well.

I guess I am the only one that sees our lack of RB depth may comeback to haunt us.

If something happens to Henry I don't want to here anyone crying.

What about Jamal Anderson?!?

Other than the injury issue, which could be nothing. He would probably sign cheap for a 1 year deal and if he proved reliable sign for a better contract at years end. At the very least be a free agent again. I say if you could sign him for about 700k for the rest of the season (500k with some incentives) I think its worth a look. JMHO

Anderson will also do well for a quick pick up for a insurance policy.

I like Waters because he can catch the ball out of the backfield.

I don't think Morris is such a bad Back. Why can't we give him a chance before looking for some one else?

I think we should see if we can bring alexander back, he would add good depth, at the right price, and he aint too bad at that.

Ok. Henry gets hurt and we have Morris for a backup. Who comes in after Morris?

So you're worried about Henry and Sammy Morris getting hurt?

MissBuffalo

Waters wants way too much money. It might be a good idea to pick someone up, but not someone who's ONLY worried about the amount of money he's making.
Besides, we need to sign quality defensive players next season and if we blow all our money on Waters (who will be keeping the bench warm for Henry) then there's none left for the D.
Anderson would be a better, cheaper idea or like venis said, bring Alexander back.

Not to mention the fact that if Henry doesn't get injured, I'm sure Waters would be moaning about not starting.

Miss B, I mean only pick him up for this year. He wouldn't hurt the cap for next year.

MissBuffalo

If he would sign for only a year, that would be very helpful. He's a great player and would probably work really good in our system. But I just think he's looking for a long term deal.

I say stay away from former 49ers - except for Prioleau.

I couldnt agree more that we need to sign someone for depth at RB with Bryson gone for the season, im sure They are kicking themselfs for letting Alexander AND Huntly go.

Where is Alexander now?

I'm sure Ricky will be available if and when we need him. Or Anderson. Besides, maybe Burns is worth a turd. Who knows!

At least it would get him out of the broadcast booth. That Jam session of his on ESPN is horrible.:stick:

Huntley sucks.

How many RB do we have on the roster??

I think there is only Henry and Morris. Unless you count FB.

If Morris is our only true RB backup I sure hope they take him off special teams.

We have Burns too

Burns has a similar build to Henry. I'm not sure if he runs has hard though. If we every had to go to Burns, I'm sure TD would have brought in someone with experience by then.

There is no way we should sign Ricky Watters! Yuk!

I'm not a big fan if Ricky W. either.

he is too old, he was good in his hayday, but we are a long way away from that time, it would be as dumb as signing Carter.

Is Burns any good?

We are not in a position of needing a high priced player on the downside of his career. If we needed him it might be another matter. Besides how can we stomach a running back on our own team named "Ricky" and a last name that begins with "W?"
