Who gets the ball when they're all on the field and we need a 3rd and 5?

I say Moulds on a quick screen.

Fake the hand-off to Henry and then toss it to Willis going the other way.

The more I think of it, this sounds like a Kevin Gilbride formation: Three WR, 2 Backs, no TE, and only five guys to block. If anything, it'd be a safety-valve pass to one of the backs, because the defense would be blitzing their asses off against that formation.

not if we have been running effectively.

I like all of your suggestions - and I hope we use each one of them instead of having only one play set for the situation.

That is a Gilbride plan.

Bring in the punting team and fake punt to Moorman. He had probably the best run of the season last year and anytime you can keep the ball out of Drew's hands is a good thing.

;) :D

Moulds for sure...he is big, strong and still our best offensive weapon for the quick 5 yard gain.

If it's the same guy every time, by the third game Buffalo's third down efficiency in those situations will drop to about 10%.

With all the different weapons, I think you will see us spread the ball around to alot of different guys. Defenses won't know what to expect. Much different than what happened last year.

I think you're right. If you aren't, we'll be in for a very poor season.

I hope Mularkey simplifies it enough so that Drew doen't get confused and whatever those plays are, don't leave it up to Drew for those plays to work. The less pressure is put upon him, the better.

even so if its a 3rd and 5 and we got no TE or true blocking RB to stay back and help, you still gotta blitz them bc even if they run you got a shot at ctaching them behind the line on a blitz. Its gotta be a quick hook to Moulds or a fade.

we wont need to do anything, defenses will be nervous with all those offensive weapons....offside,5 yards, 1st down :D

I say we have a two tight end set with two recivers and one back. Then we could run, throw to moulds or hit 1 of two huge targets (peters, cambell)

I was trying to answer the question within the parameters that cas originally spelled out-Moulds, Reed, Evans, McGahee and Henry on the field in that situation. Personally, I doubt you'd ever see this personnel combination on the field, let alone on 3rd and 5. Neither Henry nor McGahee are really blocking backs, which means one would be on the sidelines in favor of a TE or FB who could motion to H-Back. Either that, or one of the backs would end up as a second slot receiver (probably McGahee), giving the set more of a "Run-and-Shoot" look. I HOPE we don't ever see the "Run-andShoot/WCO" hybrid ever again. Not as part of our offense, anyway.

We will be using a bunch of different formations this year.

To answer it like it was asked then check down Moulds,Evans, and hit Reed across the middle.
