What was the most gruesome sports injury you have seen?

Willis McGahee's knee in the bowl game?

Steve Beurline (sp?) with his right angled thumb?

I can't find any pictures on any of those either.

I once broke my right leg in HS playing soccer. Both shin bones. I was lying on the ground and when they picked up my leg, I was told that it was sagging SIDEWAYS.

Glad I didn't see it. :ill:

That's basically what happened to Krumrie, his leg just blew out under him. He went one way and his leg went the other way.

Yeah, this would be my pick too.:puke: It was definitely the sickest thing I've ever seen.

Although, there was a picture of a guy on the hockey board who had his neck sliced with a skate and he was gushing blood EVERYWHERE! I didn't see that live, but the pictures were disgusting!!!!!:puke::puke::puke:

Theisman's was fun to watch. I can't stand that moron.

McGahee was really gruesome. The first angle was the nastiest and the refused to go back to it during the game. Thank God for ESPN.

Thanks, Ally and Spaz....I think. Yeah, that hockey one is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. It's a miracle he didn't bleed to death!

Joe Theisman's leg is right up there though.

malarchuk's injury is by far the worst.

d.stingley getting paralyzed on the football field was another tragedy.

Malarchuk's injury probably looked the worst with all the blood lost. Seeing all that blood spurting out really makes a difference, especially when you are bleeding on a white surface. Having Bryan Berard almost lose his eye to a high stick was pretty grusome as well and I will never get the picture out of my mind of that AHL incident from a couple weeks ago where the one guy slashed the other across the face.

In Baseball, I think I've seen a few guys hit in the face with line drive and seen guys run into each other and the wall, but I think the worst injury was Dave Dravecky who broke his arm while pitching. There have been others who have done this also. Of course it was also pretty grusome when Randy Johnson killed that bird in spring training a few years ago when the bird decided to fly through the strike zone, feathers everywhere.

There are so many numerous nasty injuries in football, legs snapping, arms breaking, and guys getting paralyzed that it is hard to pick just one. I think Krumrie's leg was a compound fracture and being in the Superbowl got the most live views.

The only one I can think of in basketball wasn't really related to the sport at all, it was Kermit Washington punching Rudy Tomjonovich in a brawl and breaking his jaw.

I need to do some backtracking to see if I can find this video again, but I saw a kickboxing clip on the internet- one guy was kicking and his opponent blocked it with his shin, and the kicker's leg just snapped like a twig and started flopping around- he didn't even realize it and tried to stand on it again.

I'll post a link later if I can find it

ok here's the link to the kickboxer:

Two warnings:
1. The video is extremely graphic
2. This site links to porno and has some explicit banner ads, but if you use the link to go directly to the video you won't see them.

Stuff magazine had a list a few years ago. Some worse than Theisman. Where the bone came through the skin.
