Bills' Winfield expects to miss 2 more games

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (October 23, 2002 7:41 p.m. EDT) - Buffalo cornerback Antoine Winfield, the Bills' third-leading tackler this season, expects to miss two more games recovering from left knee surgery.
"They tell me it's day-to-day, but I'm not ready for this week, maybe Kansas City," Winfield said Wednesday, referring to Buffalo's game against the Chiefs on Nov. 17.
That would give Winfield an extra week of rest. The Bills have a bye week on Nov. 10 after wrapping up a two-game homestand against Detroit this weekend and then New England.
Winfield, who spent Wednesday riding a stationary bike while the Bills practiced, had surgery to repair cartilage damage last Friday, a day after he came up limping in practice.
The Bills listed Winfield as doubtful against Detroit.
Starting offensive tackle Mike Williams (right hamstring), who missed last Sunday's game at Miami, was the only other player held out of practice. He's listed as questionable for this weekend.
Tight end Dave Moore (broken left hand) and safety Tony Driver (hip) are also listed as questionable.
